The best recipe RSS feeds (and a calmer way to read them)
Recipe sites still publish excellent RSS feeds — you just have to know which ones. Here are the kitchens worth following, and what happens when a reader actually understands recipes.
The feeds worth your breakfast table
- Serious Eats (seriouseats.com) — Deep technique + tested recipes; the science-of-why lane.
- Smitten Kitchen (smittenkitchen.com) — Home-kitchen classics, written like a friend talking.
- Budget Bytes (budgetbytes.com) — Every recipe costed out per serving; weeknight-realistic.
- RecipeTin Eats (recipetineats.com) — Reliable crowd-pleasers with meticulous testing.
- King Arthur Baking (kingarthurbaking.com) — The baking reference: bread, pastry, and the reasons they work.
- Maangchi (maangchi.com) — Korean home cooking from the internet’s favorite teacher.
- The Woks of Life (thewoksoflife.com) — A family’s Chinese cooking canon, restaurant dishes included.
- Minimalist Baker (minimalistbaker.com) — 10 ingredients or less, mostly plant-forward.
- Sally’s Baking Addiction (sallysbakingaddiction.com) — Approachable desserts with step photos.
- Pinch of Yum (pinchofyum.com) — Fast, photogenic dinners that actually repeat well.
- Half Baked Harvest (halfbakedharvest.com) — Cozy maximalist comfort food.
- Food Wishes (foodwishes.blogspot.com) — Chef John’s video recipes — the voice alone is worth it.
- The Guardian — Recipes (theguardian.com) — A broadsheet’s food desk, free and RSS-friendly.
- Skinnytaste (skinnytaste.com) — Lighter takes with real-world portions.
- Love and Lemons (loveandlemons.com) — Seasonal vegetarian, bright and simple.
Every one of these publishes a working feed — add any of them to any RSS reader.
What a recipe-literate reader looks like
Most readers treat a recipe like any other article: headline, link, good luck. Muuted reads the recipe itself — the structured data the site already publishes — so the card shows total time, prep, servings, and the rating before you tap. Open the summary and you get just the recipe: ingredients and steps with the thousand-word preamble stripped, a photo up top, and a one-tap Copy recipe that pastes cleanly into AnyList or your notes app.
And because it’s Muuted, the rest of your feed stays quiet too: mute the ragebait, keep the recipes.
