Add the channels you want

Search for a channel by name or paste its address. Following dozens already? Import them all at once. No Google account connection required.

When a channel publishes, the video appears alongside the other sources you follow. Chronological. Nothing promoted because an algorithm thinks you'll click it.

Watch it — or swipe it away

Play what interests you right in the feed. Swipe away what doesn't, or what you've already seen. Shorts never show up in the first place.

Bring your whole library

Subscribed to 80 channels? Don't add them one by one.

Google lets you export your subscriptions as a file. Muuted reads that file and brings every channel across in one step.

1. Export from Google

At takeout.google.com, select only YouTube and YouTube Music, and under its options choose subscriptions. Google emails you a download.

2. Find subscriptions.csv

Unzip the download. The file you want is subscriptions.csv, in the YouTube and YouTube Music › subscriptions folder.

Extensions like Unhook

Hide the home feed, Up Next, Shorts and autoplay. Strong and free on a desktop browser, but the phone app runs no extensions, and the phone is where the drifting happens.

Raw RSS

Every channel publishes a feed you can add to any reader, outside the recommendation system. It works; setup is more manual, and most readers will still show you the Shorts.

FAQ

Can I hide YouTube Shorts?

Yes, and it is on from the start. Channel feeds include every Short a channel posts; Muuted checks each new video and keeps the Shorts out of your feed. If you want them back, turn off Hide YouTube Shorts in Settings.

Can I clear out videos I've already watched or don't want?

Yes. Turn on Swipe to dismiss once, then swipe a video left and it is gone from your feed. With auto-hide on, what you've scrolled past folds away by itself, so old videos never pile up.

Can I import all my YouTube subscriptions at once?

Yes. Export your subscriptions from Google Takeout and import the subscriptions.csv file on Feed controls. Every channel comes across in one step. See the Help center.

Do I need to connect my Google account?

No. Public YouTube channels publish feeds of their new videos, and following them needs no access to your Google account.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. Browser extensions can't touch the YouTube app, but Muuted is its own app, so your channels arrive with no recommendation surfaces at all.

Do I still watch on YouTube?

The video plays right from its card in your feed, or opens on YouTube if you prefer. Either way you never pass through Home or Up Next to get there.
