Open Garden · Made by Muuted

Find new feeds for the subreddits you follow.

Reddit is ending RSS support on November 13, 2026, so your subreddit feeds will stop updating. Paste your subreddits and find matching Lemmy communities you can follow in any RSS reader.

The OPML check needs JavaScript.

The finder needs JavaScript. The topic list and the popular communities table below work without it, or search communities at lemmy.world/search.

How Open Garden works

Find, choose, follow.

Open Garden is a free tool for finding open feeds. Today that means Lemmy communities to replace subreddit RSS feeds. Anyone can read them; no login sits between you and the feed.

01

Find

Paste your subreddits, or upload an OPML export. Open Garden looks for the Lemmy community that matches each one, with member counts and recent activity.

02

Choose

Keep the communities you want. Each one keeps its own public RSS link. A match we are unsure about is never ticked for you.

03

Follow

Use the links, or one OPML file, in Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, FreshRSS or any reader that takes RSS.

Where the Import button is, reader by reader

Steps as each reader’s own help describes them, read on October 24, 2026. Readers not listed here import OPML too; look for Import under Settings or next to the add-feed button. RSS Rescue is a separate free tool that does the same OPML check in your browser.

NetNewsWire
  1. Mac: File › Import Subscriptions…, choose the file, click Open.
  2. iPhone or iPad: on the Feeds screen tap the settings control, tap Import Subscriptions, pick the file in Files.
From NetNewsWire’s help.
Feedly
  1. On the web, open feedly.com/i/cortex.
  2. Click Choose OPML file, or drag the file onto the page.
From Feedly’s help. Web only.
FreshRSS
  1. Subscriptions management › Import / export.
  2. Browse to the file, then Import.
From FreshRSS’s docs.
Feedbin
  1. Settings › Import/Export.
  2. Choose the file and import.
From Feedbin’s help.
Inoreader, Reeder, NewsBlur, Miniflux, Feeder
  1. Each imports OPML; their help pages do not state the menu path in a form we could quote, so look for Import under Settings or Preferences, or next to the add-feed button.
Reeder’s help notes that OPML import is not available on its free tier.
Muuted
  1. Open Feed Rules, then Sources.
  2. Open Import a list, choose the file and tap Import.

Your topics. Alongside everything else you follow.

  • Muuted adds your Lemmy topics alongside the other sources you choose.
  • Stories appear in published order, with no recommendations.
  • You can mute words across your entire feed, not just Lemmy.

Other open sources to follow

Follow the source, not the platform.

If there is no good Lemmy match, follow the source you actually want: the original publication, creator, forum, Mastodon account or YouTube channel. Many projects publish directly through Bluesky, Mastodon, forums, blogs, podcasts, and YouTube.

Lemmy

Communities, votes, threads

Lemmy is the closest match to Reddit’s community model. Each community has a public RSS feed.

https://<site>/feeds/c/<name>.xml?sort=New

Example: lemmy.world/feeds/c/selfhosted.xml?sort=New. Use the part after the @ in !selfhosted@lemmy.world.

Bluesky

Profiles by RSS

Add /rss to a profile address to follow public posts in a reader.

https://bsky.app/profile/<handle>/rss

Example: bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/rss

Mastodon

Accounts and hashtags

Follow profiles or hashtags directly from a Mastodon server.

https://<server>/@<user>.rss https://<server>/tags/<tag>.rss

Example: mastodon.social/@Mastodon.rss

Discourse

Project forums

Many software and hobby communities run Discourse forums, which include built-in RSS feeds.

https://<forum>/latest.rss https://<forum>/c/<category>.rss

Example: community.home-assistant.io/latest.rss

Blogs, podcasts and YouTube channels publish their own feeds too: YouTube · podcasts · Hacker News · sites with no feed

Questions

Quick answers.

Does Reddit RSS really end on November 13, 2026?

Yes. Reddit announced on September 30, 2026 that it will stop supporting RSS on November 13, 2026, as reported by TechCrunch and The Next Web. The change happens at Reddit’s end, so moving the same subreddit feed to another reader will not restore it. Only Reddit’s feeds are ending; your other site, blog, forum, podcast, YouTube and social feeds are separate.

What is Lemmy?

Lemmy is a free, open-source link-aggregation and discussion network made of topic communities, much like subreddits. Communities live on independent sites that share posts with each other, and public communities publish RSS feeds that need no login. A community is written like !selfhosted@lemmy.world: the name, then the site that hosts it.

How do I follow a Lemmy community in an RSS reader?

Paste the community’s feed address into any reader: https://<site>/feeds/c/<name>.xml?sort=New. For !selfhosted@lemmy.world that is https://lemmy.world/feeds/c/selfhosted.xml?sort=New. Open Garden shows this address for every match, and can give you one OPML file with all of them. No account is needed.

Do I need a Lemmy account?

No, not for reading. You need one only to reply or post, or to use the Lemmy import file, which follows the communities for you inside Lemmy.

Is there an official replacement for readers?

No. Reddit’s words: “If you use RSS for feeds outside of a community you moderate, there is no replacement.” Moderators can move their alerts to a Discord Relay app instead.

Is my OPML file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser. Only the subreddit names found in it are sent to the finder to look up communities; feed addresses, including private ones with tokens in them, never leave your device. The downloaded files are built in the browser too.

Can I follow Bluesky or Mastodon by RSS?

Yes. Every Bluesky profile has a feed at https://bsky.app/profile/<handle>/rss. On Mastodon, add .rss to a profile address, or follow a hashtag at https://<server>/tags/<tag>.rss.

I follow subreddits in Muuted. What happens?

Muuted shows you a notice in the app naming the ones affected, and it no longer adds new subreddits, so nothing goes quiet without you knowing. Everything else you follow is unaffected.
